Permanent Erosion Control Projects training. This one day workshop introduces

Turfgrass Maintenance with Reduced Environmental Impacts: August 10, Virginia, MN
MECA is a local sponsor for this upcoming Turfgrass Maintenance Class. Funding for the class is provided by Minnesota's Lake Superior Coastal Program.
Who manages the turfgrass at your office? Do you live in a townhome association that hires a maintenance company? Who mows the lawn at your child's school? Do you want more information on how to maintain turfgrass with fewer environmental impacts? Spread the word about this free class. The target audience is private lawn maintenance companies; City, County & township maintenance staff; and environmental professionals that want to know more about this subject. 2-Hour Field Demonstration Session for Builders, Inspectors & Local Government Staff: August 25, North Mankato
This interactive, fast-paced and hands on field course will provide a better understanding of erosion and sediment control practices and products available, average costs of practices, and the vendors and contractors that provide these products and services. Examples include hydromulch types 5,6,8, and 9, categories 1-6 blankets, turf reinforcement mats, flexible growth mediums, inlet protection options, compost and shredded wood berms, and much more.

Affected communities work frantically to protect properties, but often the rivers and other water resources are negatively impacted by the floodwaters and sediment and other pollutants they carry.
